We Just Painted a Home in Westlake, Ohio - Full Interior and Exterior, Real Costs

The Project

The homeowners had just purchased the home and wanted to make it their own before moving in. The interior needed a complete color refresh and the exterior - original paint from 2009 - was faded, chalking, and showing its age. We completed the interior first, then the exterior the following week.

Interior: Making It Their Own

The new homeowners had a clear vision - warm, neutral, and cohesive throughout. We used:

• Main floor: Accessible Beige (SW 7036) - warm and inviting, works beautifully with their hardwood floors
• Foyer and stairwell: Agreeable Gray (SW 7029) - a slightly cooler tone that makes the entry feel spacious
• Master bedroom: Mindful Gray (SW 7016) - a sophisticated mid-tone that photographs beautifully
• All trim: Alabaster (SW 7008) - a warm white that ties the whole palette together

Exterior: Full Repaint with Proper Prep

The exterior was a full repaint - power wash, scrape all loose paint, caulk all gaps and penetrations, prime bare wood, and two coats of Sherwin-Williams Duration Exterior. We used Accessible Beige on the body, Extra White on the trim, and Black Magic (SW 6991) on the shutters and front door for a classic, high-contrast look.
